Visual learning is especially important in the areas of engineering and science education, since students must, more than ever, learn to think visually and communicate their ideas visually to both peers and the general public. A Visual Learning Campfire (a highly interdisciplinary workshop-style event in the ACM SIGGRAPH and Eurographics co-sponsored Symposia Program) was held in Snowbird, Utah, June 1 – 4, 2002
The IGDA Academic Summit, Held during the 2002 Game Developers’ Conference, provided a forum for
participants to examine the relationship between academia and the game
development industry, and to discuss how to make this relationship more
beneficial for both groups.
Sponsored by the ACM SIGGRAPH Education Committee, the National Science Foundation (DUE-9554692), and Georgia State University
This is a one-week workshop for faculty at undergraduate institutions who want to learn about the new field of Scientific Visualization. The workshop is oriented towards those faculty who want to teach Scientific Visualization as either a complete course or as a module in another course, e.g. computer graphics.
We have given three Workshops in Computer Graphics co-sponsored by the National Science Foundation (Grants #USE-8954402 and #DUE-9255489)and the Education Committee. These workshops have been held in August 1991, August 1993, and August 1994 at Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia.
