My artistic work began in the early 70s in the field of painting and action-art. At that time I was working these disciplines included painting, sculpture, performance, music, writing, photography, video art and digital art. I was working in these diciplines in an individual and interdisciplinary way.
In the middle of the 70s, I was concentrating on conceptual art work based on structural work which is mainly related to language and environment. In these years I was in contact with several artists related to Max Bense. They showed me the work of Georg Nees and F. Nake, the german concretists and the poets Haroldo and Augusto do Compos, printed through plotter, alongside a pioneer Siemens System.
These Experiences had a great influence on my work by the end of the 80s. In these years I began to work ith graphics based on algorythmns on a rudimenal computer Inves, later with Apple Macgraphics and animations with Amiga 500 and 2000.
At that time I was experimenting in different ways a compound work through the videocamera and specially in feedback, this kind of work which is close to that of Nam June Paik. It was at that time that my work using video connected with the world of computer graphics. The results obtained from the video go to the digital memory.
In the beginning of the 90s I was working on "work in progress" titles "Pix Mix Space" in which the geometric, the organic, the abstract and the figurative get mixed up through the rythmn of my own music - also realised by computer. From this time on, I though, art using computers would progress in the offering the best tools for the painter, the musician and the sculptos: he artist. The final aim being virtual reality. But from a personal point of view, I have worked with installations and performances and always the main interest in the process which could present a frozen image, often in short moments, very subtle all the content and the poetic of the experience.
I think the ideal field in which a contemporaty artists could in using computers is a complex one. The interaction between natural environment and technological space. The structure of the space of work which equilibrates these relations gives an efficient way of recording.
The development of software goes ahead and is often the avant-grade, this allows the artist to value the significant technical processes truly "archaic", but the paradox is that the intuition os nearer to the utopia of the medium. In the field of the languages; HTML and the code of programation show the language like a generator of a new esthetic.
The evolution of hardware, also in the vanguard, optimizes the creativity process in a powerful, efficiently, quickly, portability and miniaturly way. The way to the technical perfection is there. Corresponding to the artists gives him an every moment of the way the concrete experiece for this other way, which is the spiritual perfection.
Between the pioneers, which I don't need to name Georg Nees, Frider Nake, Max Bense, Max Bill, Otto Piene, Vera Molnar, Roman Verostko, Mafred Mohr, Jean Pierre Herbert. In Spaing: Eusebie Sempere and Jose Luis Alexanco.
In music: John Cage, K.H. Stockhausen, Pierre Schaeffer, Pierre Henry, Kraftwerk, B. Eno, or Klaus Schulze; in Spain: Luis de Pablo, Mestres Quadreny.
