Artist’s Statement:
My artistic journey is a fusion of creativity, technical expertise, and a relentless curiosity about the future. As a second-year MS student in Visualization at Texas A&M University, I thrive at the crossroads of art, technology, and innovation. My multidisciplinary background fuels my passion for creating immersive experiences and pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling. My foundation in Computer Science equips me with the technical prowess to tackle complex challenges. My studies in Graphic Design and Art History infuse my work with aesthetic sensibilities and historical context. Digital Gaming and Simulation studies have honed my skills in interactive design and user experience.
I delved into the world of robotics, exploring how intelligent machines can enhance our lives, and was fascinated by the magic of visual perception—how computers “see” and interpret images. I am eager to seek opportunities and positions to embark on my doctoral studies.
Technical Statement:
To design my poster, I followed a multi-step process that combined traditional 2D software with generative AI tools and machine learning techniques.
I began by brainstorming ideas for the poster’s content, purpose, and target audience. Using Adobe Photoshop, I formatted the poster size, set up the layout, and arranged visual elements such as logo and images.
To add an innovative touch, I incorporated generative AI using Copilot. Copilot assisted me in generating unique visual elements, suggesting creative compositions, and providing alternative design options. With my prompt engineering skills, I provided prompts to Copilot, which then generated images, patterns, or abstract elements based on the context.
To improve the quality of the generative images, I applied machine learning techniques:
Super-Resolution: I employed deep learning models to enhance the resolution and details of low-resolution images. In addition to Noise Reduction: I applied denoising algorithms to reduce artifacts and enhance clarity.
I iterated through multiple versions of the poster, adjusting colors, contrast, and composition. Feedback from peers and stakeholders helped refine the design further.
