IRIS Explorer Contour Module

This module generates contour lines for a 2D dataset or for slices of a 3D dataset. The input is a data lattice and a Colormap (optional) and the output is a geometry set that can be sent to the Render module. If no Colormap is input then a default set of colors is used.

If there are several data variables, then alternate channels can be contoured by using the Channel Slider. If the output from the Contour module is sent to the same Render module as the original surface, then the contours are overlaid onto the surface. Click here for an example of this. This resulting image is an example of the Discrete Shaded Contouring visualization technique.
