Artist’s Statement
This design was inspired by the concept of “the touch of technology” and the profound influence it could have on the future of our natural world. On the right side of the poster, a glowing yellow hand reaches toward a human-like AI figure on the left, symbolizing the connection between humanity and innovation. Through technological advancement, we have countless opportunities to better appreciate, protect, and preserve nature. This idea is further expressed through the minimalistic depiction of nature flowing behind the figure, seamlessly intertwining with streams of circuit board patterns and flowers. I also added lights shining out from the human’s head, symbolizing the possibilities and ideas there are when it comes to technological creations and development through the people’s minds. The phases of the moon towards the right enhances the idea that as the days pass, the human mind only gets stronger.
Technical Statement
To create this design, I used a drawing software called Procreate that gave me access to various tools including brushes, drawing guides, and editing features. I first drew multiple thumbnail sketches to get the gist of what I wanted my final product to look like. I then moved on to the actual process of drawing the poster in the app. For the title, I downloaded the font outside of the app and moved it into Procreate. I then redesigned the title to my liking, connecting some letters to others.
