About the Education Committee

ACM SIGGRAPH is the ACM Special Interest Group for Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques.

Mission Statement

The ACM SIGGRAPH Education Committee supports educators and learners in computer graphics and interactive techniques. Our mission spans technical, creative, applied, and interdisciplinary studies at all educational levels, intersecting with the fields of computer science, engineering, art, design, and related disciplines. The Education Committee engages in a broad range of year-round initiatives, such as developing curricula guidelines, offering instructional resources, organizing and facilitating conference and non-conference related activities, as well as conducting outreach and community-building to foster a worldwide community of excellence in computer graphics and interactive techniques education.

ACM SIGGRAPH Education Committee Goals

  1. To encourage and facilitate efforts that connect education communities, better the educational process, and trigger innovation and creativity.
  2. To support projects and activities that further educational development in the field, and evaluate these projects to ensure they meet the needs of the educator and learner.
  3. To provide global online resources for educators that help to define a knowledge base for the discipline, to identify curriculum and core competencies, and to provide innovative learning tools and pedagogy.
  4. To offer a resource structure to enable future educators to continue in the development of the field.
